Cllr. Eric Payne

Eric has lived in Alcester all his life and was born in Bleachfield Street and was educated at St Faiths School. He has moved around Alcester over the years now living in his present home in Sherwell Drive.
Eric is married to Maggie who is also an Alcesterian . They have two grown up children, Nicholas and Charlotte .
Eric has served Alcester as a town councillor for twelve years. He has been the town Mayor on two occasions, firstly in 2000 and 2006. Eric and Maggie work together tirelessly for Alcester in Bloom. Alcester has won numerous awards including the national title of “best kept small town”.
Eric is a member of St Nicholas Church, he sings in the choir and is the captain of the bell ringing team. He is Chairman of the churchyard committee whose recent projects included the floodlighting of the exterior of the church and the recently completed sensory garden.
Eric is passionate about the proposed new hospital and has attended numerous meetings. Eric says,” a hospital is a crucial facility for Alcester and the surrounding villages”.
Flooding within the town is another serious problem that has to be resolved.
