Cllr. Valerie Hobbs

Stratford District Councillor

Valerie worked at NATO HQ in Brussels before coming to Warwickshire and marrying Richard in 1973. She has two grown up children and until recently has been actively involved in farming. Valerie served on Bearley Parish Council, is a school governor and currently doing voluntary work with young people through a county council youth programme. She has also been a member of the Warwickshire Valuation Tribunal since 1987.

Valerie is keen to help the community and actively supports her husband Richard with his work on the Warwickshire County Council. In her spare time Valerie enjoys reading, tennis, bridge and walking her dog..

She will endeavour to attend all Parish Council meetings and represent the community on all local issues. Valerie is committed to preserve the character of local villages within planning regulations and will help ensure easier access to council services.

Valerie is keen that local communities should maintain the character of their neighbourhood helping to ensure that walls and local features are preserved and that planning is sympathetic to local needs and will promote the updating of the Village Design Statement which when approved by the District Council is a planning consideration.
