Cllr. Stephen Gray

Stephen was a District Councillor at Stratford from 1988 to 1992. It has been an exciting time for him representing the Compton District
although it has also been a challenge after such a long absence.
The Conservative Group at Stratford is making big strides forward
and he has been pleased to support items such as setting a council
tax level for the district which is the lowest in Warwickshire.
There have also been big changes to the organisation and staff
there which means that the Council will be more effective and cost
efficient in the future.
Stephen has served on the Employment Committee, Overview & Scrutiny
Committee, Joint Consultation & Negotiating Group as well as joining
groups looking at councillors’ training and renewing street cleaning
contracts. He also represents the Compton Ward at the Stour Area
Committee and the full Council.
Outside the District Council, Stephen is an active member of the Conservative
Party and is the Chairman for the local District as well as the
Shipston Branch.
Outside politics he is a School Governor and secretary of the local
regeneration organisation, Stour Power. Recently retired, he is
hoping this will give him more time to spend on local issues.
