Stratford District Councillor

Richard a well-known local figure was born in Fulbrook and has lived in Bearley for 50 years. A retired farmer he and his wife Valerie, who is a Governor of Hampton Lucy School, have always been very active in local farming and community issues. He has served on Bearley Parish Council, Snitterfield Village Hall Management Committee (representing the local Badmington Club) and is currently chairman of Snitterfield Primary School Governors.

When elected to District Council 4 years ago for Snitterfield Ward Richard chaired the main Scrutiny Body and as a member of Warwickshire Police Authority is now leading the Neighbourhood Policing Project to ensure local community policing is always high on the Agenda.

For the past 9 years Richard has served on Warwickshire County Council becoming Portfolio Holder for Community Safety following the recent County Council Elections and in this role was appointed to the National Fire Services Management Committee.

In his spare time Richard enjoys playing tennis and bridge and is a member of the Snitterfield Sports Club. He enjoys country life and is actively involved in preserving the unique woodland in the local parishes.
