Update from the Local Conservatives

Conservative Future:

In December a group of young Conservatives met for a launch event at the Conservative office in Stratford. We are grateful to several senior Conservatives who attended including our MP Nadhim Zahawi. Thanks must also go to the organisers of this; Joshua Ellis and Thomas Woollard who have done a great job in bringing our younger members together. The next meeting of this new group is on Saturday 11th February, at 6.30pm for a 7pm start at the Dirty Duck Pub, Waterside, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6BA. If you are under 30 you are most welcome. Also, if you are over 30 but have children or grandchildren who might be interested in attending please let them know. Email us for more information.

Conservative Policy Forum:

We have in the past held a very successful group that debates Conservative policy. The feedback from these groups is fed back to our Ministers. I am pleased to say that we have a re-launch event on 21st February, 7.30pm at our office at 3 Trinity Street in Stratford. Please email us if you are interested in attending.

By election in Red Horse:

Our councillor for the Red Horse Ward (which covers Tysoe and surrounding villages such as Whatcote, Comton Wynyates, Oxhill and others) had to resign due to work commitments. We have selected John Feilding, a local Parish Councillor, as our candidate and I know he would be grateful for any help. If you live in the ward or nearby please contact us.

Upcoming by election in Ettington:

Councillor Philip Seccombe was elected as our Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire last May and will be stepping down as the District Councillor for Ettington Ward shortly to focus on his work with the police. The by election will take place on 4th May, which is the same day as the County Council elections, and anyone interested in applying should contact me before 20th February.

County Council Elections:

We have now selected all our candidates for the County Council elections in May. If you can spare any time to help them please contact me and I will put you in touch with your local candidate.
